F1 cost cap is already crap

So Red Bull have been pushing the financial regulations beyond breaking point and have been caught spending beyond the cost cap last year. It just happens to be the year they finally won the driver's championship again, with Max Verstappen. His win in Abu Dhabi, sealing his title, was already rather dubious. Now the entire team is on the hook...

Out of all the teams only Red Bull have overspent. Two others, Williams and Aston Martin had procedural errors, but did not overspend. It's quite worrying that in the first year of these new financial regulations, it is the team of the driver's champion who overspent. Unless the punishment is severe, these rules will be ignored from now on.
